The X-15 wearing a coating of pink ablative material. The X-15 was then covered with a white sealant coat to protect it for aerodynamic heating during its Mach 6.7, 4520 MPH, flight and the ones leading up to it. That, as they used to say, is hauling the mail.

Love this plane. Even if it's more of a rocket with a person strapped to the nosecone.

I highly doubt any letters or parcels were on board. The airplane didn't need dead weight, and it arrived at the same airport from which it departed.
